大聯盟今天宣布馬林魚隊後援投手Dustin McGowan(達斯汀·馬高文)，將獲頒本年度的Hutch獎，以表揚他永不放棄的精神。這位34歲的右投，曾一度飽受傷病困擾，但這一季他成功在邁阿密找回第二春。
McGowan的職業生涯並非一帆風順，他在2004年接受Tommy John手術時，發現自己患有糖尿病，後來曾在藍鳥和Shaun Marcum組成著名的M&M兄弟，但兩人皆因傷病在之後的發展不太順遂，在08年後打打停停，一直到前年才有比較穩定的出賽。
不過今年轉戰馬林魚，這位老將繳出了回春般的成績，不僅吃下67.0局，防禦率2.82也相當優秀，每九局三振率達到8.5，成為球隊牛棚重要的戰力之一。這般浴火重生的際遇，也讓他得到今年度Hutch獎的肯定。
Hutch獎創立於1965年，是為了紀念前大聯盟球員Fred Hutchinson，45歲死於癌症，他的朋友Bob Prince決定設立此一獎項，來紀念他對棒球的貢獻。
